“All Jokes Aside Festival Restores Some Respect To Standup”

WELCOME BACK. First held in 1994 at the legendary All Jokes Aside Comedy Club. It was a popular event in Chicago and Detroit for over seven years. Celebrity packed, the festival played to standing room audiences; headliner after headliner graced the stage to make history as the first comedy festival of its kind.

Past participants have included Steve Harvey, Chris Rock, Bernie Mac, Cedric The Entertainer, Dave Chapplle, Craig Robinson, D.L. Hughley, MoNique, JB Smoove, Carlos Mencia, Adele Givens, George Willborn, Sheryl Underwood, Deon Cole, Don DC Curry, Mike Epps, DeRay Davis, and Sommore, to name a few.

NEXT: In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of All Jokes Aside Comedy Club the one-day festival will be a host of new activities addition to the nation’s hottest and newest voices in comedy; we will add music, film and tech to the mix. The high profile talents of the nations best veterans mixed with the spirit of the best up and coming talent is sure to create knock out performances. Profits from the festival will benefit THE FUND.

Perhaps the most notable feature of the festival is that Students, ages 14-22, will play a significant role in the planning and execution of the festival. In partnership with Chicago Public Schools and Columbia College, We will expose them to all task involved in presenting live entertainment including artist management, marketing, production, general operations and managing THE FUND.


This award will be given annually to a comedian that exemplifies our mission and our objectives. Affect Social Change One Joke At A Time. Profits from the GALA will benefit ALL JOKES ASIDE…The FUND.
